The challenges of existing drug therapeutic techniques are first, they are inefficient in deep tumor drug delivery, second, they lack a desired, on-demand, drug release. So, a new technique is highly desirable. In order to satisfy these requirements, we fabricated 100 nm diameter core-shell type nanoparticles with trapped polymer containing superparamagnetic nanoparticles.
This developed hollow-sphere nanocapsule containing intentionally trapped magnetic nanoparticles and defined anticancer drugs provides a powerful magnetic vector for the deep tumor drug delivery and allows a controlled on-off switchable release. We also performed in vitro and in vivo experiments with these powerful capsules to show the effectiveness in reducing tumor cell growth.
